GreenWood, Inc. is proud to announce that it has been awarded the Highwire Platinum Safety Award for its continuous project work at Merck in Elkton, Virginia. This prestigious award is a reflection of GreenWood’s ongoing commitment to safety and outstanding results each year at this project. GreenWood’s “Always Aware” safety program is integrated with Merck’s safety standards to create an exceptionally safe work environment for all employees. The Platinum Safety Award is the highest honor awarded by Highwire.

The Highwire Safety Assessment reviews a company’s historic safety performance and current safety management systems. The program includes a thorough, objective and consistent evaluation of company performance so that clients and contractors can identify, monitor, and manage risk smarter. The results provide a strong indicator of how a contractor values safety and serves a reliable predictor of future performance. GreenWood received an average of 99 out of 100 for every trade category with zero discrepancies, and no identified weaknesses.

“This recognition by Highwire points to the foundation of our safety standards and the over-arching program that is designed to maintain a safe work environment while protecting employees,” says Mike Simmons, Safety Director for GreenWood, Inc. “Our teams work hard to be safe which is core to our safety culture and is our top priority in all the work we perform every day.”

Highwire is the Contractor Success Platform for asset owners, general contractors, and facilities managers. The world’s most admired organizations — including Skanska, Merck, and Bond Brothers — use Highwire to ensure their contracting partners deliver great work, on budget and on schedule, by collaborating with them to dynamically mitigate safety, financial, quality and sustainability risks throughout every project lifecycle.

GE Team Addresses COVID-19

GE-Team-with-Logo

Our GE Power project site team in Greenville has been instrumental in keeping the facility safe and open during these unfamiliar times. In response to their hard work, GE expressed their appreciation to Team GreenWood and requested a group picture of all participating members supporting the COVID-19 initiatives and activities. The group is shown in front of the “GE Meatball” sign that will soon be installed above the main entrance to the building.

Those shown in the picture include GreenWood and GE employees who have sanitized break areas, cafeterias, vending machines with parts and supplies, turnstiles, and other areas as identified multiple times per day. This team has also assisted with setting up the new temperature scanning areas, modified break areas, and worked with others to support social distancing. They have sanitized the entire office facilities on two separate occasions along with many other jobs.

A big “thank you” and “job well done” for the great work this amazing team has performed! We appreciate their exceptional efforts during such unusual times.
